Lindsey Vonn has silenced any lingering doubts over her fitness by winning her third race in three days at the FIS women’s World Cup event at Haus Im Ennstal, Austria.

And the 25-year-old alpine queen, who emulated German Katja Seizinger’s clean sweep feat at Lake Louise, Alberta in 1997, has taken a huge step closer to sealing a hat-trick of crowns after stretching her lead over Germany's Maria Riesch at the top of the overall standings to 192 points.

After extending her 100 per cent start to the downhill campaign with back-to-back victories at the Austrian resort on Friday and Saturday, the American showed no ill-effects from her bruised arm as she cruised to her first Super-G win of the season in a time of 1minute 26.69seconds.

'Three wins in a row, that gives me plenty of confidence' - Lindsey Vonn

She came home 0.53 seconds clear of Anja Paerson of Sweden and 0.85 seconds ahead of Italy's Nadia Fanchini and Switzerland's Martina Schild, who shared third place, while a mistake on the lower section of the piste cost Riesch valuable time and resulted in her finishing a disappointing 24th.

Vonn, who now has 28 World Cup wins to her name, said: "Everything is working well for me - the skis, my preparations, and tactically. I just let my skies do the work. Before I set off I closely watched where the others were making mistakes.

"Three wins in a row, that gives me plenty of confidence, I knew I was capable of doing it and now I can ski relaxed at Vancouver."

She added of emulating emulated Seizinger’s feat: "Another record. I'm pretty proud of it even if there was a hell of a pressure with everybody expecting me to do it. I'm incredibly proud."

Vonn has picked up 894 points to date this season with Riesch now a distant second on 702 going into Tuesday’s floodlit slalom in Flachau, Austria.
